Strijd der snelle leasebakken<\/h2>\n

De mooiste Le Mans sinds tijden komt eraan. Dat zeiden we vorig jaar ook al<\/a>, maar de sportwagenwereld staat nu eenmaal in bloei<\/a>. Natuurlijk gaat de strijd om de eindzege dit jaar weer tussen de dieselende marketingvehikels van leasebakgiganten Audi en Peugeot, maar daarnaast is er nog zo veel meer moois te zien \u2013 en te horen. DF zet alle kanshebbers op een rij.<\/p>\n

De 24 uren zelf gaan pas zaterdagmiddag van start, maar in de aanloop is er genoeg te beleven. De nachtelijke kwalificaties bijvoorbeeld. Of het optreden van de oorverdovende Mazda 787B<\/a>, die precies twintig jaar geleden Le Mans won en nu zijn terugkeer op de Sarthe gaat meemaken, met winnaar van destijds Johnny Herbert en acteur\/coureur Patrick Dempsey achter het stuur. Maar na dat knallende intermezzo gaat het echt beginnen. Op wie moeten we letten in de vier klassen LMP1, LMP2, GTE-Pro en GTE-Am? Kijk hier voor de volledige deelnemerslijst.<\/a><\/p>\n

LMP1: Audi, Peugeot en \u2026<\/h2>\n

\u2026 en niemand anders waarschijnlijk, alle aanpassingen aan de verhoudingen tussen benzine- en dieselmotoren<\/a> ten spijt. De megabudgetten van de twee fabrikanten blijven zo\u2019n verschil maken dat de rest er niet bij in de buurt komt. Pas als Audi of Peugeot zelf besluiten dat de dieselmarketing is uitgewerkt of als er een nieuwe fabrikant komt die met groot geld smijt tegen de nieuwste voordeeltjes voor benzine- of hybridemotoren, zal er aan de huidige status quo een eind komen.<\/p>\n

Wie het van de twee gaat winnen? Het zal erom spannen. Audi was het snelste tijdens de Le Mans-testdag<\/a>, Peugeot was het slimst tijdens de \u2018generale repetitie\u2019 op Spa<\/a>. Aan de equipes ligt het in ieder geval niet. De drie R18\u2019s<\/a> en drie 908\u2019en<\/a> kunnen rekenen op negen topcoureurs per merk, die elkaar in kwaliteit nauwelijks ontlopen. Dat ervaring niet altijd de doorslag hoeft te geven, bewezen de jonge winnaars van 2010<\/a>. Outsider is de oude 908 Hdi FAP van het priv\u00e9team van ORECA: gehandicapt door de nieuwe regels, maar wel betrouwbaar, wat de ploeg bewees door op Sebring te winnen<\/a>.<\/p>\n
